Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over

As summer ends and Labor Day Weekend approaches, please remember the dangers of alcohol-impaired driving.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that during Labor Day 2023, there were 511 crash fatalities nationwide. Of those people, 36% were killed in crashes that involved at least one alcohol-impaired driver with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 or above.

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign aims to educate the public on the dangers of drunk driving. The campaign encourages those who drink to plan for transportation beforehand, with options such as a designated driver, a rideshare app, or staying put for the night. Hosts can do their part by ensuring their guests have sober rides home.

Report any drunk drivers on the road by calling 911. The best defense against an impaired driver is wearing a seatbelt, and everyone in the vehicle should do so at all times.
