If you are reporting a crime in progress, tell the Dispatcher. Then, stay on the phone to give the Dispatcher all additional information. You do not have to give your name, but the dispatcher will ask. If you wish to leave your name and contact information, it can assist the police in conducting a more thorough investigation.
If possible, continue to watch the person and gather information. Do not put yourself in danger!
If you see a suspicious vehicle parked on your street – record the license number and description of the vehicle. If the vehicle is occupied and the driver appears suspicious, CALL THE POLICE.
Try to give the police as much detailed information as possible. We can do more if we have more specific information about the person and what exactly makes them suspicious.
Gather as much identifying information as possible. If you have time, write down the specific details before calling.
