Chief Fred Alden reports that the Ashby Police Department has charged a resident with drug trafficking following the seizure of about 1/2 kilogram of Fentanyl.

Ashby Police have obtained an arrest warrant for JULIO PRADO-REYES, AGE 38, OF ASHBY on a charge of Trafficking of Fentanyl.

PRADO-REYES may also face additional charges from the Boston and Fitchburg Police Departments.

On Thursday, Nov. 7, Ashby Police working in partnership with Boston Police detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Erickson Road which was obtained following a coordinated investigation by Ashby, Boston and Fitchburg Police, the Massachusetts State Police and the Northern Worcester County Drug Task Force. During the execution of that warrant, police seized approximately 1/2 a kilogram of Fentanyl.

PRADO-REYES was subsequently arrested in Fitchburg on an existing warrant.

“This was a great example of multiple agencies working together collaboratively to remove a significant amount of deadly drugs from the streets,” Chief Alden said.

PRADO-REYES is expected to be arraigned in Ayer District Court at a later date on the warrant for the trafficking charge issued by Ashby Police.
