Position: Full-Time Patrolman
Pay: $ 58,735 (Full-time Academy Trained)
Hours: 40 Hours Regular Work Week 5/2 Schedule
General:
The Ashby Police Department is seeking a highly motivated, proactive and community-oriented police officer to join our department. Applicants must have successfully completed a MPTC full-time police academy as well as additional requirements cited below. The Town of Ashby is located in Northern Central Massachusetts bordering New Hampshire and the MA Communities of Ashburnham, Fitchburg and Townsend. The Department is currently composed of 7 Full-time officers and serves a population of 3310.
Working Conditions:
• Salary is established through a Collective Bargaining Agreement which is currently under
negotiation.
• The Towns Health Insurance is offered at 90/10 percent split between Town and Employee
• Annual Uniform Allowance of $1325 and Cleaning Allowance of $500 is provided
• Annual Stipend for specialized duties as provided in the CBA

Qualifications & Entrance Requirements:
• Applicant must have successfully completed a MPTC full-time academy
• Possess a Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator’s License
• Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms
• Possess solid problem-solving ability and have strong verbal and written skills.
• Upon hire or within one year, required to reside within 15 miles of the Town of Ashby
